Biography:

Dr. Linda O. Winful, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Wellness Direct LLC, a private practice in Cedar Grove, New Jersey dedicated to whole-person mental health care. Born with a passion for healing and service, Dr. Winful pursued an academic path that led her from a B.S. in Biology at Rowan University to a Doctor of Nursing Practice at Rutgers University, where her doctoral research explored the transformative power of Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Along the way, she accumulated clinical experience across psychiatric hospitals, substance use recovery centers, and university counseling settings — building a career defined by both rigor and genuine compassion. She also speaks Twi, reflecting her deep cultural roots and her commitment to meeting patients in a way that feels familiar and affirming.

Professional Life:

At Wellness Direct LLC, Dr. Winful provides comprehensive psychiatric services — including evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and therapy — to children, adults, couples, and families. She draws on a wide spectrum of evidence-based modalities, from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to Emotionally Focused Therapy and Trauma-Focused care, tailoring each treatment plan to the individual’s unique needs and goals.
